"I love working with line - sometimes a free flowing, calligraphy style line; sometimes a formal and patterned line; sometimes an edge of something like a piece of frayed fabric. Repeated and patterned lines make interesting textures and the boundaries of artistic elements become intriguingly blurred. Line and texture are great elements to play with because they usually contrast, but when they 'get together', they create a vibrant yet sensitive form of expression."
"Most of my images are made using recycled paper
pulp, recycled natural fabrics, and recycled found objects. The knowledge
that I am reducing rather than adding to the world's waste problem is a great
comfort to me. My aim is to evoke a sentiment or to rekindle a memory as
the viewer engages in the contemplation of an art work. For me, this
process connects myself, the viewer and the image in an ever-expanding spiral of
creative energy."
